The Franklin Half Dollar, designed by John R. Sinnock, was minted from 1948 to 1963. The Proof issues of the Franklin Half Dollar would not commence until two years later in 1950. The 9 issues included in this set make up nearly the entire series of Proof Franklin Half Dollars, and each one is graded in Proof 68 condition. The 1955 Proof Franklin Half Dollar has one of the lowest mintages of the series with only 378,200 examples struck, making it an Absolute Rarity. Recognizing the quality of these stunning coins, these Franklin Half Dollars have been placed in NGC exclusive “We the People” holders. These holders are reserved for coins deemed to exhibit the highest quality luster and eye appeal for their year and grade after being personally inspected by Rick Tomaska, who has hand-signed the label himself. Each of these Franklin Half Dollars have PF68 populations significantly less than 1% of their respective mintages. With such low PF68 populations, each of these coins is a Condition Rarity. To increase your numismatic knowledge, a signed copy of Rick Tomaska’s “Cameo and Brilliant Proof: Coinage of the 1950 to 1970 Era” book is included with this set.
